(Wouldnt you want to just take this lil guy home and love him forever... ?) Good luck Lil one, God Bless.
Telma Shaw, from Galgo resue international writes here about the dramatic rescues when guam Track closed.
The rescue continues of the greyhounds who were abandoned Nov. 25, 008, when the Guam Greyhound track closed. Over 63 have now been rescued by GAIN (Guam Animals In Need) and many more are still to be found in lamentable conditions in backyards and in the jungles. Hundreds were indiscriminately given away to anyone who wanted a “guard dog”. As we know greyhounds do not make good guard dogs. So the rescue goes on and for this one boy pictured below not a moment to soon.
Takano was confiscated from a backyard chain. No food and only dirty water to drink. Emaciated. The Guam police were informed and the lucky boy was taken into custody. Thanks to an anonymous tip, Dave and Noni, rescuers of these wonderful dogs, were able to save another life. Takano is safe now and eating and sleeping on a soft bed at the GAIN shelter. He is in good sprits now, we are all so happy it was not too late for him. In the near future Takano will be fortunate to leave the island hell he has been living in and fly to California to Homestrech Greyhounds who have already taken in about 30 of these dogs, and then on to other wonderful adoption groups in California where he will have a chance of finding his loving and forever home.
Thank you GAIN, Dave and Noni and all the Greyhound Rescue groups involved.
